Killinarden Park Opening

On Wednesday the 27th of November, the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Baby Pereppadan officially opened the newly improved Killinarden Park. These improvements included new amenities that looked to enhance the experience that this park provides. Such amenities include a new cycle track, lit walking paths and a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA). The vision for these amenities is to increase interaction with the park and to bring a further sense of community for the local area.

This project has been funded by South Dublin County Council’s 3-year capital budget and supported by the National Transport Authority via Active Travel Grants and the Department of Sport via Sports Capital Grants. Nicholas de Jong Associates carried out the planning and design work on this project with Clonmel Enterprises Ltd civil contractors realising the vision on the ground.

The cycling route and lit walking paths will now offer an ease of permeability for residents and commuters who live nearby to have the option to choose cycling or other active transport options in their daily commutes. These cycle tracks connect onto major commuting roads such as Blessington Road and Kilinarden Way
